Silicone Export Growth Maintained in Q1
According to the latest customs data released on March 27, China’s silicone export volume maintained a steady growth trend in the first quarter of 2026. From January to February, the cumulative export volume of primary polysiloxane reached 107,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 31%. Among them, the export volume in February was 53,200 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 2.66% but a year-on-year increase of 39.24%, showing a strong growth momentum.
The main reason for the export growth is that affected by the upcoming cancellation of the 13% export tax rebate for primary polysiloxane (effective April 1), export-oriented enterprises have accelerated the export of existing orders in advance to avoid the impact of tax rebate cancellation on profits. At the same time, the continuous recovery of the global economy and the strong demand for silicone products in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East have also provided strong support for export growth. Currently, domestic silicone exporters are actively adjusting their export strategies, accelerating the layout in emerging markets to reduce reliance on traditional markets such as Europe and North America. Industry analysts point out that although the cancellation of the export tax rebate will bring short-term pressure to exporters, the long-term shift to high-value-added products and emerging markets will help promote the high-quality development of China’s silicone exports.
