German silicone giant Wacker Chemie rolled out mature industrial chemical recycling technology for silicone elastomers in June 2026. The proprietary cracking catalyst system decomposes waste silicone rubber, sealant and silicone consumer products into D4, D5 and D6 cyclic siloxanes, which can be reprocessed into standard silicone raw materials without performance loss. Compared with traditional mechanical recycling, chemical circular silicone avoids material property degradation and supports infinite recycling loops.
