Flat candy molds  These are basic molds which provide candy makers to make different candies and chocolates with specific designs (such as animal shapes, holiday symbols, Christmas decorations, etc.). They come in a large selection and fairly inexpensive.  The hot candy mixture is carefully poured into the mold and simply given the opportunity to harden. Using this type takes a little more skill, but still easy with a little practice. I would recommend this type for those who already have some candy making experience.  3. Hollow candy molds  Hollow molds, much like 3-D type above, allow you to create three-dimension designs with hollow cavities. This empty hollow space on the inside of the design can be used for additional fillings, such as peanut butter, cream filling, or melted caramel. I would recommend these more for advanced candy makers or those looking to experiment.  As you can tell each different candy mold type has their own unique advantages and disadvantages.
